Floor Covering Installers install resilient vinyl or carpet floor coverings. They work with materials like carpet, vinyl, tile, and wood. Their job ensures that the floor coverings are properly fitted and securely installed.

Responsibilities

  • Install hardwood floors
  • Install carpeting using hand or machine stitchers, seaming irons, bonding tape, or other bonding materials
  • Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered
  • Stretch and secure carpeting using knee-kicker, power stretcher, or staple gun
  • Install resilient floor coverings
  • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
  • Estimate material and labor costs for floor covering projects
