Roofers install, maintain, repair and replace roofs using a variety of materials and methods.  As part of their job, roofers will also inspect existing roof for repair and/or replacement.  Roofers will also waterproof and damp-proof foundation surfaces, floor slabs and bridge decks.  They may also install various types of flashings and drain inserts and roof penetrations. 

You have good physical stamina.

You are comfortable working at heights.

Good problem-solving and math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Install, maintain, repair and replace roofing systems.
  • They work with a variety of materials including shingles, slates, shakes, roofing tiles, sheet metal, etc.
  • Weatherproofing, waterproofing, and damp-proofing various surfaces.
  • Work in industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential environments.
  • Roofers will set up fall restraint systems to provide a safe work site.

Hourly Pay

$33.25 – $40.61/hr

*Based on 2023 collective agreement Journeyperson hourly rate
